Biblioteket fikk kattehjelp

Worcester Public Library i Massachusetts gav i mars et lekent amnesti til alle som har mistet eller skadet en bok eller andre lånte gjenstander og aldri kom tilbake for av frykt for å måtte betale for det.: Tidligere lånetagere kunne ganske enkelt ta med foto, tegning eller magasinutklipp av en katt, og slippe å betale gebyr på det som var forsinket eller mistet, og selvsagt gratis få reaktivert bibliotekkortene sine.

Programmet «March Meowness» har på bare noen få dager resultert i hundrevis av returer, mange innlegg med tilfeldige kattefotos på bibliotekets Facebook-side, og masse fotografier og illustrasjioner hengees opp på en voksende «kattevegg» i hovedbygningen.

Så langt har den gode responsen på tilgivelsenes-programmet («fur-give»…) fått direktøren for biblioteket,  Jason Homer, til å «feline good».

March Meowness Kick-Off
Saturday, March 2 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Main Library – Join us as we kick off a month celebrating cats at the Worcester Public Library! Learn how you can get involved with the Worcester Animal Rescue League and Second Chance Animal Services, make cat toys (for your own cat or to donate to shelter cats), vote in our March Meowness bracket, check out some cat titles, and have your fees for any lost or damaged items forgiven.

This event is specifically for teens (ages 12-17) and their grownups. Participants must be at least 12 years old, anyone over the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a teen to attend.
